hello kitty
idk why i titled this blog that i just looked at my little hello kitty thing i got from this convention (???) in p6 yeah it's adorable, very dusty but adorable. anyways the 2 ppl (just check the previous posts) said specifically "also can u guys come up with code names please π₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ί it's only me and ploop πππ " so i started thinking about code names. i have come up with a grand total of zero. normally i am VERY good at coming up with names <3 because (unimportant information) but like idk man up with a code name next to nylon (????) and ploopy is uh. difficult. idk what i mean by that, maybe like drop??? suggestions?? im assuming u can tell who i am :D
anyways i came on here to talk about my fav shows as a kid, most of which you've probably never heard of (unless u have then pls talk to me abt them) because my parents never let me watch tv (most of these are tv shows, but i watched the earlier ones on cd and after my brother was born i got to watch tv a lot more)
1. this weird upsy daisy show (I CANT RMB THE NAME NOW???) NO YEAH IT'S INTO THE NIGHT GARDEN i linked it so u can go watch it to <3 the quality is positively terrible now (obviously it doesn't hold up, it was produced in 2007) but i think this is my fav show ever as a kid, i even have the dolly. just a little mention upsy daisy i think kena whitewashed over the years which is so sad (i used to have darker skin than i have now and the skintone matched almost perfectly LOL)
2. second isn't my favourite but it haunts my nightmares so yes. It's numberjacks, a show which i will NOT subject you to unless you want to see a creepy pink spoon, very very weird and poor quality scenes and strange voice-acting in an attempt to scare kids into understanding numbers. That's all that I'm going to say about it but it's a notable show because it's been burnt into my skull.
3. clifford the big red dog i remember very very distinctly that my mum only ever let me watch this because it was quote unquote educational. i don't remember any of the educational parts but i think he's adorable and the animation style is very cute. Uhm, it has also come to my attention that there is a LIVE ACTION?? version of clifford which looks TERRIFYING, literally who decided to make this????
4. this one sally and peter thingy that i really CANNOT find no matter what i search. based on memory alone, the animation style is similiar (?) to early disney styles, but modernized and more abstract and saturated with a lot more colours. I remember a pet of some sorts but idk what animal it was. i'm not sure that this was ever a tv show, i'm pretty sure that i watched it via cd, and yes i just spent a good 20 mins looking through my old cd's to see if i could find it. no luck </3
5. hi-five YEAH THAT TV SHOW IM SORRY BUT I HAD A HUGE CRUSH ON ONE VERY SPECIFIC CAST MEMBER WHICH I WILL NOT REVEAL but i had like a whole song memorised and also i stopped watching like as i got older bc i think disney took it off their station.
6. harold and the purple crayon i know that this is mainly a book series but it exists in animation form so it's here. i think it's adorable and is like the perfect description of creativity for kids i like the art style sm idk why it's very simple.
7. charlie and lola you better have heard of this, this is less so my obsession and more so my mum's which i think it very cute. we have this charlie and lola snakes and ladders game which is falling to pieces but i still love. oh god the theme song is making me cry okay moving on.
8. word world i dont think this is very notable, but i have a distinct memory of being like jealous of how animation worked, because a lot of it involved smooshing things (letters) together to form new things (objects) and young me was very impressed at how fluid/smooth (lol) it was
9. unfortunately sofia the first THIS WASNT ON MY LIST OF FAV SHOWS but my brother had a kind of obsession (????) with it lmao so yeah we watched it a lot lmaooo
10. sesame street hehehhehe yes. it's my dad's fav show lmao
11. bearenstain bears. okay i read the books more but it is a show so yeah. i think this is quite common lol i dont have many opinions on this but gosh bears can be so annoying at times, that may make it SOUND like i dont like them but i assure you i do as i have an entire puzzle set at home that ive done like a hundred times already lol
12. ben and holly's little kingdom fun kids fantasy lmao , it gives very peppa pig vibes idk why i think it might just be the art style. the voice acting (IN MY MEMORY) was funny though i remember it sounding weirding... boxy ??? like it was echoing round a room. its still funny to watch lmao, or my humour is very dry which is more likely
13. bubble guppies THIS WAS GOLD OKAY DONT LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT OONA IS THE BEST CHARACTER ON EARTH THERE IS NO OBJECTION THAT CAN CHANGE MY MIND!
14. STREGA NONA okay tbh i have no idea if this is a show or not but i have a whole chunk of the pop-up books and i am a very big fan and omg i love everything about this . okay i just checked and im pretty sure it's just a book. it doesnt matter i just love all the vibes and the colour palette super cool, the pop-ups were really well-done too like none of them are damaged despite spending like a decade ish in the cupboards.
15. little miss and mr men it's just an adorable concept, i have the cds, the books (the whole collection) and everything, like little blobs of character my fav is mr messy he's very cute and everyone should love him !!!
okay this is the end of part (1????) of my fav things as a kid. yes i will definitely make another list (probably strictly books) and post it tmr?? or on sunday ig. okay bye!
